Jordan graduated from The University of Missouri - Columbia in 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Marketing and a minor degree in Film Studies. During his free time, he likes watching movies, cooking, and playing video games with his friends. He also enjoys learning about different mythologies and legends like Greek, Norse, Celtic, and Arthurian.

Makayla Ridley

Funeral Director

Makayla has been in the funeral service industry since the age of 17, starting in her humble hometown of Rock Port, MO. After attending college first, she then went to mortuary school and completed her education, board exams, and apprenticeships to become a licensed funeral director, embalmer, and crematory operator. Makayla initially began her career with Muehlebach Funeral Care in August of 2014, and after a wonderful 5 years (and having her first son), she and her husband relocated to East Tennessee to be closer to family. While in Tennessee, Makayla continued in funeral service by managing a crematory that cared for both pets and people for the last 5 years. We are happy to announce that in January of 2025, Makayla rejoined her funeral family back at Muehlebach Funeral Care in Kansas City.


She is married to her high school sweetheart, Joe, since 2017, and together they have two boys: Jack, (7), her bonus-boy who unfortunately passed in 2021, and Macoy, who they welcomed in 2019. Makayla and her family enjoy attending comicons, cheerin' on the Tennessee Volunteers, traveling, and trying any new foodie joints in the KC area.

Jenny Mertes

Community Service Director

Jenny received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and came to us with many years of experience in human resources and small business accounting, in addition to extensive volunteer community service.


Jenny also serves as the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the South Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and as secretary of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 189. She and her family have been active members of St. Thomas More parish for over 30 years.

Mary Brenner

Advanced Planning Director

Mary grew up in the Kansas City area and graduated from the University of Kansas. She has more than 30 years of experience serving clients in the employment and insurance industries. Her daughter is her pride and joy. Mary enjoys spending time with family and friends, mowing, playing card and board games, and reading.

Terry Mendenhall

Embalmer & Funeral Director

While originally from Pueblo, Colorado, Terry has called Kansas City home since receiving his Mortuary Science degree in 1989. Terry has four children, and his other interests include history.
