Wilma Jean Wurzer, 90, of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully on December 13, 2021. Wilma was born June 19, 1931, in Bottineau, ND, to John and Jessie Mae (Lauffenburger) Gallagher. She married Charles Wurzer, and celebrated 55 years of marriage. They had two children; a son Daniel Joseph and a daughter Linda Schnaible. She doted on her three grandchildren.
Wilma worked for the Kansas City Missouri Public schools for 20 years, until her retirement in 1998.
Wilma enjoyed shopping garage sales, collecting antique dolls and documenting family events and gatherings in lovingly prepared photo albums. She had a mischievous sense of humor and didnt suffer fools. For 50 years she hosted large family gatherings on holidays and birthdays.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles, her son Dan, her brother Jack Gallagher and her Sister Colleen Hopper. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Schnaible and her husband Jim, of Virginia, Sister Patricia Maloney, Brother in Law Henry Wurzer & wife Sylvia, Nieces Gale Cummings, Melissa Anderson, Kathy Marks, Molly Cowgill and Peggy Lyons, and their husbands, grandchildren Justin and Derek Wurzer and Jessie Marie Schnaible, and 11 grand nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life on Friday, December 17 at 1:00p.m. Internment at Mt. Olivet to follow.
