WILLIE MAE "BILLIE" SCHMIDT
Billie Schmidt, of Raymore, MO passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 10, 2018 at St. Sabina Catholic Church in Belton, MO at 10:00 am. Visitation will be held before the service at 9:00 am. Entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Billie was born in Franklinton, LA, one of three children to A.D. and Mildred Knight. She married Dominic Schmidt on January 30, 1944 in Colorado Springs, CO. After WWll, Billie and Dominic settled in Kansas City to start a family. Billie worked as a meat carver at Wolferman/Putschs Cafeteria, and a baker at Center High School and Avila College. Billie was a Girl Scout leader, den mother, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by husband Dominic, son-in-law Kenneth Murry, and her two brothers. Survivors include son; Glen Schmidt and his wife Mary; daughters; Marilyn Chase and her husband Fitzroy, Deb Murry, and Linda Krehbiel and her husband Monte; sister-in-law Alice Schmidt, along with 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
