William 'Pat' Campbell

June 22, 1930 — May 24, 2022

William Patrick "Pat" Campbell, 91, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2022.
Pat was born on June 22, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri to William Campbell and Maxine (Joyce) Campbell. He attended Guardian Angels Grade School, Lillis High School (48). After graduating from High School, Pat joined the Naval Reserve then enlisted in The United States Coast Guard and served in The Korean War. On August 8, 1953, he married Barbara Seller. They were married for 68 years and raised four children. Pat and Barb enjoyed being active members of St. Augustines Parish. In later years they were members of Christ the King and St. Catherine of Sienna Parish.
Pat worked as a PBX installer for Southwestern Bell for 36 Years. He enjoyed volunteering with the Boy Scouts of Troop 190. He also enjoyed volunteering at Minor Park and Oakwood golf courses. His hobbies included building model trains, fishing, camping, collecting, and finding good deals at estate and garage sales. He was hard working, fun loving, and loved to make people laugh with his quick wit. He was an extraordinary story teller and leaves us with his many tales. He led a full life and blessed his family with many memories. In his own words, "I cant beat the life I have; Ill tell you that!"
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Gary, and his sister, Mary Kathryn Seller. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his daughter Colleen Grantham (Brad), his sons Steve Campbell (Lorrie) and Patrick Campbell (Cindy), his 9 grandchildren: Carrie Ellman (Chris), Ryan Grantham (Kimberly), Eric Grantham (Frances), Shannon Grantham, Lauren Melgaard (Ryan), Maggie Hentz (Brian), Lexi Sage (Brennan), Josh Campbell (Dana) and Andrew Campbell and 12 great-grandchildren: Devin Ellman, Ben Ellman, Nora Ellman, Jane Ellman, Abigail Grantham, Emery Grantham, Hallie Grantham, Jackson Grantham, Owen Grantham, Jack Melgaard, C.J. Melgaard, and Tessa Hentz and many nieces and nephews, all dear to his heart.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Kansas City Hospice who were so wonderful with their care and support.

All services will take place on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. The visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 4101 E. 105th Terr., Kansas City, Mo. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 8300 Quivira Rd, Lenexa, KS 66215.
