Bill Swartz, 93, of Kansas City MO passed away on September 24, 2026. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 29, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church, 11822 Holmes Rd, Kansas City MO 6131. Interment will be private.

Bill was born on August 26, 1933, the son of Joseph and Lucy (Watts) Swartz in Kansas City. A graduate of Rockhurst High School and Kansas University. He also proudly served in the United States Coast Guard.

Bill married Nancy McDonald in 1964, moving to Newton, IA, where he worked for the Maytag Corporation. He retired as Director of Industrial Design following a forty-year career with the company.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack Swartz. He is survived by his wife Nancy, nephews John and Joe Swartz, along with niece Susan Patrick. Mourning his loss are many nieces and nephews of second and third generations.

The family is grateful for the caregivers at St. Anthony’s Senior Community for their kindness and compassion in caring for Bill.
