Vivian Lou Warrington

December 12, 1927 — January 29, 2019

Vivian Lou (Blain) Warrington, age 91, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away peacefully with her husband and daughter by her side, at Sunrise of Leawood on January 29, 2019. All services will be held at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO 64131, on Saturday, February 9th. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life service following at 2:00 p.m.Vivian was born on December 12, 1927 on a farm near Blackburn, Missouri, to Samuel and Lula Blain. The family included an older sister, Marie, brother Ricel, and youngest sister, Maxine.She rode a horse to grade school. After graduating from Sweet Springs High School in Sweet Springs, Missouri in 1945, she graduated from the Kansas City Secretarial School the same year. On April 24, 1948, Vivian married Paul J. Warrington, Sr., in Kansas City, Missouri. They had two children, Paul Jr. and LuAnn.Vivian was a Secretary for the Business Managers at the Kansas City University, Box Office Magazine, and Shallow Water Oil Company. In 1961, she was a Secretary in the Employment Office of Bendix Corporation in Kansas City. Bendix merged to Allied Signal and Honeywell. Vivian was a Secretary to an Engineer and later retired as Administrative Analyst in Facilities Engineering at Honeywell with over 32 years of service.Vivian served as Church Clerk for Forest Avenue Baptist Church and Sante Fe Hills Baptist Church. She was in the choir for many years at Forest Avenue, Sante Fe Hills, and Holmeswood Baptist Church. She also sang many years in the Holmeswood Community Choir which entertained at nursing homes. She played the piano and enjoyed quilting earning 1st place in several shows.She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served twice as Worthy Matron, once with Paul. Vivian was a Grand Representative of Tennessee and then Grand Office in 2003. Vivian and Paul traveled the United States and overseas with the Order of the Eastern Star and Paul's U.S. Navy Armed Guard group.She is survived by husband Paul of 70 years; daughter LuAnn Warrington (Ron Mustard); grandchildren, Bradley (Alana) Hargrave and Lacey (Joe) McGuirk; and great grandchildren Isla, Owen, and Mason Hargrave and John McGuirk.
