Vincent J Munsterman

Complicated by diabetes and other physical maladies, for over five years Vince suffered from an incurable blood cancer that caused horrific bruising over most of his body, and a chronic loss of energy. His body did not make red blood cells, and his life was sustained with blood transfusion in the last few months of his life. His body finally succumbed to the cancer and Vince died on May 28, 2025, at 85 years old. We pray that the Good Lord will welcome him with open arms.

Visitation will be from 11:30AM to 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Saint John Francis Regis Catholic Church, 8941 James A. Reed Road, KC, Mo. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation. He will be buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Vince was preceded in death by his parents, Erma and Edward Munsterman, his wife Sharon, and two brothers, Elmer and Don Munsterman. He is survived by his sons Mike and Jeff, two grandchildren, a sister, Virginia Klein, and two brothers, Larry and Gary Munsterman.

Vince was born on January 23, 1940, the 2nd son of Edward and Erma Munsterman, and he lived/worked on the family farm in Appleton City. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic grade school for 8 years in Montrose, Mo., and graduated from Appleton City High School in 1958. After high school, he worked on the family farm until 1961 when he obtained a job with Halmark Cards in Kansas City. In 1963 he was drafted into the Army. He was assigned to the military police and served in Germany. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1965 and returned to his job at Halmark Cards. At Halmark, he operated a sophisticated printing press until he retired.

Vince married the girl of his dreams, Sharon Bedsworth, on October 1, 1966, and together they raised two sons, Mike and Jeff. Sharon became sick and eventually she had to be admitted to a nursing home. For many years, Vince devoted his life to her care and comfort. Sharon died on July 29, 2020.

When circumstances permitted, Vince enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting with his family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests consideration be given for a donation to Saint John Francis Regis Catholic Church.
