It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Valerie Margaret Roach, age 62, (Kansas City, MO), on August 01, 2023, surrounded by family. Valerie had a fierce love and devotion to her family, friends, and faith. Valerie’s strong faith and inner spirit led her to the path of helping others. Valerie was not only invested in becoming the best person she could be, but also dedicated her time and energy every single day to lift others around her.
Valerie was born on February 07, 1961, in Kansas City, MO to Beatrice and Stephen Glynn. After completing high school at St. Teresa’s Academy, she attended UMKC and Rockhurst University. Valerie met her husband of 33 years, J.L., while working at Indian Hills Country Club. She had a successful 31-year career with Nutter Home Loans, concluding her career as the Assistant Vice President of Payoffs and Taxes. Val loved cooking, spending time with her grandchildren, and spoiling her dog, Nahla. She loved hosting friends and family for weekly Sunday dinners and the annual Thanksgiving feast.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Stephen Glynn. She is survived by her husband, John Lee and their four children, daughter, Samantha Beatrice; son, John Thomas; daughter, Mackenzie Reneé; and son, Mitchell Stephen; four grandchildren, Jade Margaret, Ava Marie, John William, Caroline Reed; sisters, Mary Jane Delap, Suzette Cutcliff (Jack), Eileen Novosel (Paul), Patricia Finn, Agnes Landry; and brother, Joseph Glynn; and countless nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 08, at Visitation Church, 5141 Main Street, Kansas City, MO. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, MO following the funeral. The rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m., Monday, followed by visitation at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to Visitation School.
