Shirley Gangel (Dreiling) Platt

Shirley Gangel (Dreiling) Platt, 87, passed away at home on Nov 23, 2022. Visitation will be held 9:30am Friday, Dec 9th at Saint Thomas More Church, 11822 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, lunch, and reception at the family home at 4pm. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to City Union Missions and Diocesan Priests.

Shirley is survived by her children, Kathy Herbert, Carrie Williams, Michael Dreiling, Margie Studenny, Jo-Ellyn Elliot, Joseph Platt, their spouses, 21 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was proceeded by death by her husband John Platt; Bobby Dreiling, Judy Collins, Jeb Platt, and grandsons Jeffrey Williams and Dan Herbert.

Shirley primarily was a wife and mother. She was a very faith filled lady. She was full of class and always so well put together, truly a queen until the very end.

A life with some sorrows, good times and jokes

I love God, my country, music and folks

When loved ones and friends passed away her poetry “pictured” them riding a rainbow and ended with “till we meet again…….”

She leaves you with the same thought - till we meet again…..
