Sherrie Sue Baier

March 27, 1973 — December 22, 2025

Kansas City, Missouri

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sherrie Sue Baier, who left us far too soon on December 22, 2025, at the age of 52, in her beloved Kansas City, Missouri. Born on March 27, 1973, in Fairfax, Missouri, Sherrie filled her life with joy and laughter, leaving a lasting mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Sherrie is remembered fondly for her warm personality and giving nature. She embodied a beautiful blend of resilience and compassion, always striving to uplift those around her. Her friends described her as a party girl at heart, constantly inviting others to dance, sing, and share in the joy of life. Her vibrant spirit was matched only by her beautiful smile, which lit up any room she entered. On social media, Sherrie frequently posted scriptures from the Bible, offering hope and encouragement not just to herself but to anyone facing struggles, reflecting her deep faith and commitment to helping others. Her spirit was undeniable as she enjoyed her time cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs and supporting other local teams, embodying the true heart of a Kansas City fan. A lover of all things Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Sherrie’s whimsical side brought endless joy to her family and friends. Sherrie was also an accomplished cook, a skill she cherished and honed, thanks in no small part to her mother, who was her first and best teacher. In fact, Sherrie's creations often delighted and surprised even her mother!

Her journey also had its moments of tenderness and humor. As a little girl, a playful mishap involving her brother and a pair of school scissors led to a significant haircut, leading folks to believe her mother had four boys instead, prompting Sherrie's proud declaration, "Ain't I pretty," despite the worries of her mother. This anecdote stays etched in the memories of family and friends, a testament to her ability to find joy even in unexpected situations.

Sherrie dedicated over six years of her professional life to Walmart, also proudly contributing her energy and warmth to the team at General Motors, and was currently employed at Dollar General at the time of her passing. Her work ethic and kindness resonated with her colleagues, as she forged meaningful connections that extended beyond the workplace.

In the year before her passing, Sherrie experienced a profound spiritual milestone as she was baptized by her Pastor, Dale, celebrating her faith surrounded by her church family at Day Spring Pentecostal Church. This accomplishment was a testament to her faith, strength and dedication to her beliefs, and it brought her immense joy that she cherished deeply.

Sherrie leaves behind a loving family that includes her son Louis Holloway III, affectionately known as “Shotcot,” and his wife Courtney along with their six kids--Sherrie's grandbabies she so adored. She is survived by her loving mother, Linda Baier, and father, Charles M. Baier, along with her step-father, Archie James. Sherrie's siblings, Mike Baier, Charles "Eddie" Baier, and Bobbie Baier, who is accompanied by his daughter Kaliah, will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Further expanding her family, she is survived by her sister, Darlene Hayes, and step-brothers Randal James and Archie James Jr. Sherrie also leaves behind countless friends who were like family to her, all of whom will miss her dearly.

A Celebration of Life service will take place at Muehlebach Funeral Care in Kansas City, Missouri, on January 9, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with the service beginning at 3:30 PM. Sherrie's legacy of generosity, kindness, and love will continue to inspire all who were touched by her warm spirit. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered as a vibrant soul who radiated love wherever she went.
