Sandra Lou Iennaccao, 72, of Kansas City, Missouri, was born to Mary Lou and Harry Gilbert Thompson on August 31, 1948. Sandy grew up with and adored her younger brother, John Patrick. She was welcomed into heaven on May 22nd. A graduate of St. Pius X High School where she met the love of her life, John Iennaccaro. They were joined in marriage June 10, 1966. Their marriage created three children : Michelle, Lisa and John Jr.
Sandy devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, and her catholic faith. A defining aspect of her life was her unwavering devotion to the Virgin Mary; as she believed Mary was a direct way to Jesus. She generously gave her time to Kansas Specialty Dog Service (KSDS), because of her love for her two service dogs (Bay and Mickey).
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She was survived by her brother, John (Teresa), and her children; Michelle (Jerry) Torgerson, Lisa (Jeff) Hills, and John Jr. as well as her grandchildren; Ryan, Chase, Johnathan, McKenzie, Brooke. Emily, Hailey, Lindsay and Megan. All of her grandchildren knew her as Mimi .
Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her family including her in-laws, her aunts, nieces , nephews, cousins and friends. Many lives will be impacted because of the legacy Sandy has left for those she loved.
All are welcome to her funeral mass at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Friday, May 28th, 2021 at 10:00. We encourage people to arrive by 9:30 to speak about memories of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the M.S. Society, 7611 State Line Rd, Kansas City, MO 64114 or KSDS Assistance Dogs, 120 W. 7th St, Washington, KS 66968.
