Ryleigh Alaura
Dison
October 17, 2025 – May 17, 2026
With heavy hearts and tender memories, we remember and celebrate the brief but bright life of Ryleigh Alaura Dison, who graced this world with her presence from October 17, 2025, to May 17, 2026. Born at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, Ryleigh’s arrival was a moment filled with immense love and hope—a day marked by triumph after a difficult delivery. Her precious grasps of her mommy’s thumb and her daddy’s big ol' hands remain vivid in the hearts of those who loved her.
Though Ryleigh was with us for just seven months, her spirited personality shone with such intensity. She was an incredibly spunky, sassy little girl, packed full of attitude and independence that contradicted her small size. Those who encountered her could immediately feel the BIG personality she carried—a light within such a tiny being. Though she never left the hospital, her spirit touched the lives of many, shining brightly despite numerous medical challenges caused by two special genetic conditions.
Ryleigh had her own unique way of living life. She loved to eat her chapstick and was quite clear about her preferences about clothing—not ever wanting to wear any! She also showed her favorites among the nurses and staff at Children's Mercy, a testament to her big personality and sassy little self.
Surrounded by loving family--for all seven months, and every moment possible after--Ryleigh’s legacy is cherished deeply by loving Mama and Daddy, Bayleigh Krieg and H. Steven Dison; her GiGi (great grandma) Dawn Kingrey; her grandmothers, "MiMi" Kelly Krieg and "Nana" Dawn Burchett (husband Ed); grandfather Steve Dison; her loving aunts and uncles, "TiTi" Madasyn Sowers, “Big Unc” Kaine Krieg and his fiancée Lesley, and "Aunt K" Kristin Thorup; her bonus grandpas, Scott Sowers, and "Papaw" Donnie Nafzinger; as well as many dear extended family and friends. Each holds Ryleigh's memory close, forever carrying with them the love and light she brought into their lives.
Though her time with us was far too short, Ryleigh’s spark will never dim. She lived each moment with determination, sass, and a vibrancy that heartened us all. Her journey reminds us that even the smallest souls can leave the biggest imprints on our hearts. Rest peacefully, dear Ryleigh, wrapped forever in the love of those who will cherish you endlessly, fluttering through Heaven with butterfly wings.
