Rosemarie Bader, 93, of Westwood, KS passed away May 7, 2017, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. Monday, May 15 followed by Mass at 10:00 at St. Agnes Church, 5250 Mission Rd. Roeland Park, KS. 66215. Internment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Rosemarie was born March 12, 1924, the daughter of Fred and Hedwig Gaschen in Kansas City. She was a lifelong member of St. Agnes parish and a graduate of Ward High School. She worked as a switchboard operator during the war and married Lawrence (Bud) Bader in December, 1944. They lived in Pittsburgh, California where Bud was stationed with the army and returned to Kansas City after the war. From their union they had four children. Rosemarie was an avid quilter and enjoyed family vacations and hosting Christmas gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bud, daughter Susan, sister, Dorothy and brothers, James, Fred, Robert and Daniel. She is survived by her sisters, Frances and Margaret, brother, George, and sons, Michael (Kent) Bader, Gary (Mary) Bader and daughter Patricia Flavin. She also leaves behind granddaughter, Pamela (Andrew) Flack, grandsons, Brian (Jennifer) Flavin, Kenneth Bader and Daniel Bader, great grandchildren, Emily and Abigail Flack and Ryder Flavin.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Garden Terrace of Overland Park for providing compassionate care in her final months.
