Ronald graduated from Raytown High School in 1957 and went on to employment with Bargain Spot Lumber & Materials Company. In 1964, he became a partner in ownership of the company. In 1980 when he took full ownership, he grew the business to include a second location called Eagle Lumber in Independence, Missouri. He elected to sell the business and stepped into a position as buyer for Pacific Mutual Door Company from 1994-2010 when he officially retired. His work allowed him to draft and build his family's home in 1972 where the family still resides. Ronald’s time was spent managing a business, as well as, attending numerous school functions such as ball games, award ceremonies, and music concerts. He had a love for flowers, car restoration, and woodworking. He and Doris raised their children to have a strong work ethic, pride in doing things well, focus on education, but placing family and faith first. His best qualities were his generous heart, sense of humor, and patience.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and support staff of Research Medical Center SICU, who cared for Ronald throughout his current illness.
