On Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, Roberta was called home to be with our Heavenly Father. Roberta was born in Owl Creek, Kansas on April 29th, 1938, and lived in Piqua, KS on a farm till she was 18 years old when she moved to the big city of Kansa City, MO. That’s when she worked for Hallmark, met her future husband through the local church young adults’ group. They married on November 19th, 1966, built a life and family for 55 years with many friends and considered it a treasured and blessed life.

Roberta moved to Wichita, KS on July 1st, 2024, to be closer to her four grandchildren after becoming a widow in 2022. While it was hard to leave all her friends and family in Kansas City, how do you say no to grandchildren? Moving to Reflection Living she made new friends, spent many hours with the loving grandchildren that were the joys of her life and was well taken care of in the final days of her life. She spent her days reading, praying and remembering all the things she was grateful for in life.

Roberta is proceeded in death by her husband Bill (Inez William) Aguirre, Eva & Robert Koester (parents) and Don Koester (brother). She is survived by her daughters Janet Aguirre (Kim Stewert), Julie (Matthew) Johnson and Nancy Aguirre; Grace, Benedict, Sophia and Gabrial Johnson (grandchildren); sisters Mary (Richard) Jones and Marlene Wichmann.

The funeral will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 11822 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO at 1 PM on Tuesday, February 17th. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggest masses offered for Roberta and for all souls in Purgatory or donations to the food pantry of your choice.
