Robert John Henry

Robert John Henry "Bob", of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on January 21, 2022 at Willow Creek Memory Care, Lees Summit, MO. He was born September 29, 1928, in Kansas City, MO to Jack and Bertha Henry. At 17 he volunteered and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the final year of WWII. He further served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a Tank Mechanic and Engineer. Bob retired in 1989 with over 25 years at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a Civil Engineer.
On August 7, 1954 in Kansas City, MO, he married Margaret Mary McLeese "Mickey". Bob and Mickey were active members of St. Catherines of Sienna Parish for over 60 years. Bob was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. They enjoyed camping and traveling with the children. Bob especially enjoyed fishing and hunting. He enjoyed painting and was an award-winning artist with the Raytown Artist Association. Bob was an Eagle Scout and a Warrior "Jumping Red Salmon" in the tribe of Mic-O-Say.
Bob is survived by his wife, Margaret, daughters, Sue (Tim) Dugan, Beth (Les) McDaniel, Nancy (Tom deceased) Baker, and sons, Larry (Robin) Henry, Robert (Barbara) Henry, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, his brother Teddy, and sisters Margarite Cummings, Ann Cummings, and Barbara Davis. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his oldest son John, and siblings Tommy, Terry, Eugene, and Deloris.Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 4101 E 105th Terrace, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 AM prior to the service. Burial to follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, Missouri.
