Reya Belle Megli

July 8, 2022 — July 10, 2022

The live stream will begin when the service starts around 10:00 am CST on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1P8K4MAiz_c

Reya Belle Megli was born at 4:39 pm, Friday July 8 and passed away peacefully in the arms of her parents as the sun rose on Sunday, July 10 at 6:23 am. Sharing the same birthday as her great-grandfather, Earle Beecher, and named in honor of her maternal great-grandparents, Reya will always be loved and deeply missed by those she left behind. Despite their loss, Reyas family has peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Though they will always miss their sweet baby girl, her parents are finding comfort in God's holy word. Even now they are meditating on their most earnest prayer for Reya from Ephesians during the twilight hours of her life and pray that all in attendance will find comfort and salvation in Jesus Christ.
"For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all." Ephesians 1:15-23

During her short time here, Reya delighted her parents with her soft brown hair, 8lb 13oz chubby body, and perfect arm and leg rolls. She was a just-right combination of her mom and dad and she looked like both mom and big brother Jesse, with the exception of the undeniable Megli ears and mouth! With long, slender fingers, she loved to hold her parents hands when they spoke and sang to her, opening her eyes when she heard their voices. It was evident that Reya loved music as much as her dad does. Through ultrasound, she could be seen sucking her thumb just like her brother and dad did!

Reya is survived by a large and loving family, including her parents, David and Elisabeth Megli, and big brother Jesse of Kansas City, MO; her maternal grandparents Richard and Deanne Bell Bronaugh of Indio, CA. Reyas paternal family includes grandparents Ronald and Susan Beecher Megli of Olathe, KS, and aunts and uncles Megan and Andrew Wilson of Beaverton, OR; Allison and Adesiji Adewunmi of Salem, OR; Marketa Clanton of Olathe, KS; and her cousins Genevieve, Ezra, and Madeleine Wilson; and Josiah, Ethan, and Silas Adewunmi. She is also survived by many loving great-aunts, great-uncles, second and third cousins, and her great-great-aunt Gwendolyn Smythe Hughes.

The family celebrates in faith that the Triune God has carried Reya into His heavenly home and that they will one day be reunited with her through Christ Jesus. Reya was fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:13-18) now dwelling in the presence of the Almighty (2 Corinthians 5:8), surrounded by the saints who have gone before. The family is confident that baby Reya knows even more than they do at this moment of what it means to be part of the body and the "bride of Christ."
Although Reya fought hard to stay with us, her precious body was unable to recover from complications that occurred during her birth. Her family would like to thank the Childrens Mercy Hospital staff for their awesome efforts, dedication, and compassion to Reyas care. The family is requesting memorial contributions be made in Reya Belle Meglis honor to Childrens Mercy Hospital.

The visitation will be held at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Overland Park, KS from 4:30 to 7:30 pm on Friday, July 15. Funeral services will take place at the same location on Saturday, July 16 at 10 am. Redeemer Presbyterian Church is located at 9333 W 159th Street, Overland Park, KS 66221.
