Randall Schmit

Randall Schmit, age 65, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on July 22, 2018. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m., followed by a Visitation until 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 26th at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2 East 75th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64114. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:30 a.m., Friday, July 27th at the church. Interment held at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas.
Randall was born on September 9, 1952 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to his parents, Donald Schmit and Genevieve (Brost) Schmit. He was the second of five children, having three brothers and one sister. Randall graduated from St. Johns Diocesan Seminary in Kansas City in 1971.
He made a career in the automotive and construction industries. His enormous passion in life was for his children, family, and friends. It was in 1989 he met the love of his life, Bonita "Bonnie" Stewart. They were married in 1991 and spent 27 happily married years together. Randall and Bonnie raised three children; one son and two daughters. He will be dearly missed by all of his friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Donald; brother, David; and granddaughter, Anna Bosch. Randall is survived by his mother, Genevieve Schmit; wife, Bonnie Schmit; son, Nick Schmit; daughters, Angela (Christopher) Bosch and Katie (Patrick) Davis; brothers, Dan (Paula) Schmit and Terry (Mary) Schmit; sister, Donna (Mark) Walsh; grandchildren, Hallie, Cody, Abigail, Austin, Samuel and Isobel; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to express their sincerest thanks to the nurses and staff at Liberty Hospital Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion they provided for Randall.
