It is with great sorrow that the family of Phillip "Phil" Dean Norman, 78, of Kansas City, died peacefully on August 29, 2025. Born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, on July 19, 1947, Phil's greatest joy in life was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, known for his kindness and unwavering love.
A proud Marine, Phil served his country with honor and returned home to build a beautiful life with his wife, Deborah "Debbie" Boyd-Norman. Together, they raised three beloved daughters, Cynthia Norman-Housman (Daniel), Lynda Norman, and Phyllis Norman-Komoroski (Ivan). Phil took immense pride in watching his family grow, cherishing his seven grandchildren, Jacob (Jake) Cary, Jessica Cary, Kayla Housman-Salas, Shakota Housman-Bittel, Mya (Miles) Willover, Morgan Komoroski, and Benton Komoroski and five great-grandchildren.
While he is no longer with us, the family is comforted by the many happy memories of the joy and love he brought into their lives. His spirit and legacy will live on through his cherished family and many friends.
A funeral service with full military honors will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO, on September 20, 2025, at 1 p.m. A celebration of life will follow the service to share memories and honor Phil's remarkable life.
