Patrick Joseph WeinzirlDied on October 19, 2021, in Kansas City, MO. Patrick was born on August 30, 1927 to Paul and Nell Weinzirl in Pierce City, MO. He graduated from Pierce City High School in 1945. He served his country as a Sargent First Class in the US Army during the Korean War.Pat moved to Kansas City, MO, in 1951. He was employed in the Heating and Cooling industry and later with Gates Rubber Co.
Pat married Gertrude (Betsy) Betzen on November 24, 1956 and had six children: Four sons David, Steven (Tina), Jerry (Angelia), Scott (Jen) and two daughters Jeanne Clark and Diane (Joe) Vereecke. After retiring in 1989, he spent twenty years with Betsy traveling, camping and cruising all fifty states, Canada and Mexico.
Pat was very active in concerns of the city and worked for over twenty years with the Church Community Organization (CCO) now known as Communities Creating Opportunities. He loved spending time studying genealogy and sharing family stories.
Preceded in death by his parents, a brother Wayne Weinzirl, a sister Mary Ellen Weinzirl, and a granddaughter Emily Ann Weinzirl. Survived by his wife Betsy, a sister Kathleen Byrne, his six children, twelve grandchildren and two great children.
Services at St. Thomas More Catholic Church - Monday, October 25th - Visitation at 11am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Noon. Donations to the Christ the King Food Pantry in lieu of flowers.
