Patricia Ann Martin

Patricia Ann Martin, 77, of Grandview, Missouri, passed away on September 20, 2026, in Grandview. She was born on June 6, 1949, in Chillicothe, Missouri, and will be remembered as a caring, generous woman whose life touched both her family and her community.

Patricia devoted herself to serving others in meaningful ways throughout her life. She worked as a teacher with several churches and nursing school. She enjoyed sharing her knowledge and encouragement with those around her. Her spirit of service also shone through her volunteer work with the after-school program at Calvary Temple, where she gave her time and care to children and families.

She found joy in simple and creative pleasures. Patricia loved working on puzzles and enjoyed crafting and making things with her hands, especially knitting. These interests reflected her patient nature and her gift for creating comfort and warmth for others. She was also known as the neighborhood mom, someone who made sure the children in the neighborhood were fed and cared for, leaving a lasting impression through everyday acts of kindness.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Shannon Farris and her husband, Doug, and by her son, Ronald Martin. In the lives of her family, she leaves behind the memory of a loving mother whose care reached far beyond her own home and whose kindness will not be forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her father, Sylvester Barlow, and her mother, Betsey Barlow.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on September 28, 2026, at Forest Hill & Calvary Cemetery, 6901 Troost Ave, Kansas City, Missouri 64131.

Patricia Ann Martin will be remembered for her generous heart, her willingness to serve, and the steady compassion she showed to so many. Her memory will live on in the family she loved, the children she helped, and the community she cared for so faithfully.
