Patricia "Pat" Elmore Keller, age 87, of Leawood, KS returned peacefully to the Lord on February 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. On Thursday February 18th at the Church of the Nativity, 3800 W. 119th St., Leawood, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to Operation Breakthrough 3039 Troost KC, MO 64109. Pat was born on July 4, 1933 in Memphis, Tennessee to James and Dorothy "Gay" Elmore. She attended Southwest High School ('52) and attended Texas State College for Women in Denton,Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Dottie Kidd, and Bill, her husband of 55 years. She is survived by three loving sons, Bill (Sheryl), Tom (Kate), and Dan (Sharon), seven grandchildren, Tyler, Max, Greg, Maggie, Jeffrey, Sydney, and Cole, three great grandchildren, Mia, Will, and Savannah Jo, sisters-in-law Kathy (Jack) Newman and Jane Keller.
Pat and Bill's first date was on New Year's Eve in 1949. The high school sweethearts were married on August 24th 1957 in the Naval Base Chapel Pensacola, Fl. She worked 3 year at Kansas City Life, followed by a full time job raising her three boys and then taught for 25 years at Academy Montessori on State Line Road. She enjoyed shopping with her friend Mary, lunches with her sisters-in-law, Kitty, Jane, and Kathy, time with her family, tennis, star-gazing with Bill at the Lake of the Ozarks, decorating for Christmas, and organizing Mother's Day in the Park for extended family. She was a wonderful bridge partner. Pat was a good and loyal friend to all who knew her and often showed it with a card, a note, an e-mail, a phone call or another simple thoughtful act.
