Mary Mulroney

April 9, 1919 — October 13, 2017

Mary Mulroney, 98, Of Overland Park, KS, passed away October 13, 2017. Visitation will be held Friday, October 20th, from 9:30 to 10:30 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Anns Catholic Church, 7231 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, KS 66208. Interment will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery at 2:30 pm.

She was born April 9, 1919, in Elkader, IA, to Carl & Marie Roach Ehrhardt. She received her early education at St. Joseph school in Elkader and graduated with a BA in Music from Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa. She also attended the University of Iowa. As a music and English teacher, she lived in Portland, OR and New York. Her best friend from college introduced her to Jerry Mulroney and they were married in 1947.

Moving from Des Moines to Kansas City in 1960, she played the organ at 8:00 Mass every day at St. Anns and was a sacristan there for years. She also taught music in her spare time. She was a fan of Iowa U, KU, the Royals, and the Chiefs.

Mary frequently accompanied Jerry on his business trips and they traveled extensively after retirement to Europe and the Holy Land. She had lived at The Forum in Overland Park since 2004.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Lewellen and her husband Max, as well as two sisters, LaVonne Sandor and Eileen Williams and many nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gerald Mulroney, and a sister, Sr. Jane Ehrhardt, RSM.
