Father: thanks to his benevolence we never doubted the benevolence of our heavenly Father.
Dad: thanks to his ingenuity we thought there must be a solution to just about any problem.
Catholic: thanks to his uprightness we knew the examples of truth, courage,
fortitude, patience and perseverance.
Husband: only his cherished wife can express all of the meaning he gave to that title.

Mark Douglas Matulka was born to Alfred and Lucy Huffman Matulka in Pratt, Kansas February 16th 1954. He left the family farm to pursue a career in the medical equipment field. On December 18th 1976, he married Helen Marian Fitzhenry. Their marriage was blessed with five children: Sister Marie Kateri TOP, Brother Rene of Mary FSSPX, Sister Mary Bernadette SSSPX, Loretta Renae Neinaber and Gregory Jacob Matulka. On April 25th, 1985, He was born into the supernatural life in the Catholic Church and confirmed by Archbishop LeFebvre. His devotion to the faith was born out in 25 years of service as sacristan of St Therese’s Mission Chapel. Several setbacks throughout his life were met with patience and resignation. His health suffered a swift decline after his stroke in 2014, which was followed by his move to Kansas City, Kansas in 2023. After 49 years of married life, God called Mark to his eternal birthday on January 15th 2026. May he rest in peace.
