Marjorie Joan Hoffman

March 27, 1932 — June 14, 2017

Marjorie Joan Hoffman, 85, of Kansas City, MO., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. She was born in Concordia, KS to Vern and Wilma (Bennett) Garlock on Easter Sunday, March 27, 1932. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Hoffman in 1972 and three brothers, Gerald Garlock, Jack Garlock and Myron Garlock and two sisters, Thelma Keyes and Joan Reimer. She is survived by one brother, Willard Garlock and six sisters, Beth Riley, Ruth McEntee, Darlene (Paul) Garst, Judy (Edwin) Hayes, Shirley (Bill) Elsner, and Janie Jo (Wendell) Sheets. She is also survived by daughters Jane Herman, Deborah (David) Leininger, Barbara (James) Olive, Karen (Joseph) Thornton, and one son Ralph (Cathy) E. Hoffman, Jr. She has nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Marjorie ran an in-home daycare for children for over 20 years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, playing cards, bingo and traveling to Minnesota each summer to fish and garden.
Visitation will be held at Muehelbach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost, KCMO Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 11:00 am officiated by Pastor Jim Robinson. Burial at Forest Hill Cemetery. Gathering of friends and family following at Ivanhoe Masonic Temple, 8640 Holmes Rd., KCMO. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.muehlebachchapel.com
