Leota was born November 5, 1924 in Americus, KS., to Artimus and Ella (Craig) Wagner. She worked as a packer at Sunshine Biscuit Company and for a die casting company in support of the war effort during WW II. Leota enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress. Although Leota moved to Missouri in her teens, she always considered herself a "Kansas" girl. She loved her family with all her heart, was a devoted mother and grandmother, and guided us all spiritually by the example she set. Her family will always hold a special place in their hearts for her and will miss her songs, wit, compassion, love, AND her pies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of thirty three years James "Mack" Cossairt; an infant son, two grandchildren, and five siblings. Survivors include her son, Mick Cossairt (Deb) of Lees Summit, MO; Daughter, Melody Garland of Blue Springs, MO; sister Neola Ferguson; four grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
