Leland “Lee” McMillin, 88, passed away on October 1, 2024 at Wexford Place in Kansas City, MO. Lee was born to Joseph A. and Crystal L. (Goodrick) McMillin in rural Miller County, MO. He moved to Kansas City after graduating from Eldon High School in 1954. He was united in marriage to JoAnn Worth on September 21, 1956. They had two children, LeAnn & Michael. Lee was a truck driver for Fleming Foods for many years. He & JoAnn loved to travel & especially loved going to Florida, where friends knew Lee was near when they saw the jug of sun tea sitting out. He and JoAnn were avid sports fans, they especially loved watching Missouri Tigers Basketball. They were a house divided when it came to baseball, Lee was a St. Louis Cardinals fan and JoAnn a Kansas City Royals fan. Although, both loved the Kansas City Chiefs. Lee was a member of Briarcliff Church (formerly Northgate Baptist Church), Kansas City North, MO. Where he met and had many cherished friends.
He is survived by daughter LeAnn Shelton (Mike); grandchildren Christine Bartlett (David), Amy Hart, Melissa Burchette, Alison Register (Mark), Aaron McMillin (Ginny); ten great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, his son Michael and wife JoAnn; brother Thomas Belshe (Irene) and sister Louise (Belshe) Meyer (Dennis).
A special thank you to the dedicated staff at Wexford Place & Ascend hospice for their love, attention & care the past few years.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024 at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO 64131, starting at 11:00am. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00pm, with a Committal Service Burial at 12:45 pm, at Forest Hill & Calvary Cemetery, 6901 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO 64131.
In lieu of flowers a donation to Ascend Hospice, 783 NE Anderson Ln., Lee's Summit, MO 64064, would be appreciated.
