Keren Batiz-Colón, born on December 6, 1976, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, passed away on January 27, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was 49 years old.

Keren was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She attended Center High School in Kansas City, Missouri, and spent much of her life building deep connections with family and those lucky enough to call her a friend. Known for her warmth and presence, Keren brought love, strength, and care into every space she entered.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Colón; her daughter, Vanessa Hertenstein; her parents, Julio and Evelyn Batiz; her sisters, Keila (Rob) Higginbotham, Kamey Batiz, and Kylene (William) Campbell; her nephew and nieces Robert, Peaches, Soleil, Arianna, and Addyson; and many dear friends and family who will carry her memory forward.

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Juana Irma Mansito, Catalina Vazquez, grandfathers Gregorio Garcia, Julio Batiz Sr., and cousin Idida Avila.

Keren will be remembered for the love she gave freely to her family and the lasting impact she made on the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
