Kathryn Sue Vervaecke, age 64, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 26th, 2025, at home. She was surrounded by her loving family after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Kathy was born February 16, 1961, in Kansas City, Missouri to Carol and Jim Brown. She graduated from United Township High School and went on to work as a truck driver until she found her career in the mortgage industry. Kathy was known for her devout faith and involvement with Saint Catherine of Sienna Parish, the Knights of Columbus, and Ladies Auxiliary. She loved knitting, creating countless gifts for family and friends, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and friends and spoiling her dogs and grandchildren. She was heavily involved with the choir at her parish and other projects that surrounded her faith.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Donald Vervaecke (known to family and friends as Tebe), her three daughters, Kellie Carter and her three children (Angelique, Legan, and Kristen), Alissa Wrinkles and her children (Evander and step-daughter Elizabeth), and Holly Vervaecke; her mother Carol Hackett and stepfather Robert Hackett, and her four siblings Connie Brown, Jerry Brown (his wife, Lulu), Duane Brown (his wife, Melinda), and Karen Sense (her husband Aaron and four children). She was preceded in death by her father Jim, her grandparents, Bernadine and Clem, and her granddaughter Bethany. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 2nd, 2025, with a Visitation starting at 10:15 am at St. Thomas More, 11822 Holmes Rd., KCMO 64131, followed by a Rosary at 11:45 a.m. and Mass at Noon.
