Joseph 'Barr' Medina

Joseph "Barr" Medina, 85, passed away February 7, 2018. Visitation will be held from 9-10 am Monday, February 12th at Christ the King Church, 8510 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, MO 64114 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Private interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Rockhurst University or Christ the King Church.Joseph was born August 18, 1932 in Kansas City, MO to Modesto L. and Paula J. Medina. He attended Redemptorist High School, St. Augustine Seminary, received his B.S. from Rockhurst College and his masters degree from Baker University. Joseph was a teacher at Van Horn High School. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Gallegos and Frances Sanchez; brothers, Daniel and Paul. Survivors include a sister, Toni Medina; brothers, Louis, Patrick, Jesse Manuel and Joseph "Tayo" Medina; many nieces and nephews.
