John D. Zeller, affectionately known to many as Jack, departed this world on June 9, 2025, in Overland Park, Kansas, surrounded by the love of family and friends. His journey began on September 28, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri, where he embraced life with a heart full of kindness and a spirit that resonated joy.
Jack dedicated 42 years of his life as an Insurance Agent for Farmers Insurance Company, a profession where he not only contributed his knowledge and expertise but also his innate ability to connect with people. In addition to his career, he co-owned Fresh Cuts Beauty Shop with Jeannette Campbell, a partnership that reflected his entrepreneurial spirit and his commitment to serving the community.
In the 1980s, Jack's passion for the outdoors culminated in the creation of Bass King Lures, a fishing lure business that exemplified his love for fishing—a pursuit that brought him countless hours of joy. During moments that many will fondly remember, Jack could often be found casting lines at a tranquil lake, indulging his passion for nature and the art of photography, or dancing with unparalleled enthusiasm to the rhythm of line dancing music. He cherished his vacations and relished every moment spent in the stunning landscapes of Colorado, Wyoming, and Florida.
Graduating from Raytown South High School in 1964, Jack carved a path marked by laughter, generosity, and a deep connection to those around him. His incredible sense of humor was a beacon that drew people in, a gift that forever brightened the lives of family and friends alike.
