John Rogge

November 16, 1970 — January 16, 2021

A loving son, brother, friend and companion, John passed away peacefully on January 16, 2021 at his home in Jacksonville, Florida. John was born to Daniel and Judie Rogge on November 16, 1970, and was raised in Kansas City, Missouri, the middle child of 11. John worked as a database programmer. His professional career took him to Arkansas, Oregon, Washington, Tennessee, Kansas City and Florida.
As an adult, John sought adventure and discovered life in many places. He had a variety of interests, including music (all types, especially Jazz), hydroponic gardening, pets, cycling, and travel. As a lifelong Royals fan, the 2014 and 2015 seasons were well celebrated by John and his friends. John kept many lifelong friendships and had a knack for making and keeping new ones everywhere he lived. His family is especially grateful for his neighbors in Florida, who welcomed John and treated him as a member of their families.
John was a loyal friend and sibling. He faced many health-related afflictions and tragedies throughout his life, but always tried to make the best of his situation. He was loved by many and will be missed.
John leaves his parents, Dan and Judie Rogge; his sisters Laura, Barbie, Susan (Scott Bennett) and Nancy (Ken Battis); his brothers Jim (Amy), Tom (Rhonda), Mark (Cindy), Matt (Jill), Joe (Christine) and Peter (Stephanie), 46 nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. John was preceded in death by his partner, Brigitte Bennetts, and brother-in-law, Scott Gibbs, MD.
