John James Gardner

John James Gardner, 94, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on June 25, 2021. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 am, Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Christ the King Food Panty.
John was born on December 6, 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri. He enlisted in the US Navy during World War II. After serving in the US Navy, John started his career as a welder. On April 15, 1950, he married Margaret Whalen. To this union 11 children were born. He started with Dart Truck Company and then worked and eventually retired from Isco Manufacturing. John enjoyed working with metal as well as traveling and donating to several of his favorite charities. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church for many years.
John was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters; daughter, Susan Young; sons, Charles Gardner, Mike Gardner, Steve Gardner, and Tom Gardner. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Garner; daughters, Kathleen Gardner, Julie Heavner, Patty Hon, Margie Shatto; sons, Bill Gardner and Larry Gardner.
