John F. Bennetts

John Folsom Bennetts was born on December 3rd, 1941 to Harry and Judith (Hagg) Bennetts. He passed away surrounded by friends and family on August 27th, 2025.

John was born and raised in his favorite city on the planet - Kansas City. He was a maverick from the beginning to the very end. Whether it was real-estate, ceramics, fitness or gastronomy, no discipline was left untouched by his wholly original vision. If he ever left KC, his 2nd favorite space was the Ozarks. He possessed an internal dowsing rod that allowed him to find and share little-known and beautiful Ozark treasures. Jobs included: loving husband, gloriously fun dad, generous provider, rascally uncle and even rascallier grampa.

He is survived by his wife Lorraine (Kansas City), son John and his wife Gina Enfranca (Kansas City), his other son Rob and his wife Jen, his grandchildren Keely and Tanis (Lincoln, NE), brother Harry (Columbia, MO), sister Karen (Boca Raton, FL), and many precious nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on September 27th, 1pm at the John Knox Kirk (11430 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, MO 64114). Donations can be made to Wayside Waifs.
