Joe A. Taranto, Jr.

Joe A. Taranto Jr. age 69, of Belton, Missouri passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020. He was born July 13, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Joe and Carol Taranto. He was united in marriage to Diane Cook on September 25, 1999. Joe was still an avid deer hunter, but he also enjoyed in the past fishing, duck and turkey hunting. Joe loved watching football and baseball, especially the Chiefs and Royals. Joe didnt like spending a beautiful day inside. He enjoyed working outside in his yard. He was extremely proud of his tomatoes he planted every year and helping Diane with her flowers. Joe was always striving to make sure Diane was happy. Joe worked for MoDot for 30 years. At the time of his retirement he was a maintenance supervisor. He was preceded in death by his parents. Joe is survived by his wife Diane Taranto of the home, 2 brothers, 4 sisters, many in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was fun loving and ornery. He would do anything for anybody. He was greatly loved by family and friends. He will be missed. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9, from 10-11:30 am followed by a prayer service at St. Matthew Apostle Parish, 8001 Longview Rd., Kansas City, MO 64134.
