Joanne Nielsen

Joanne Marie Nielsen, 66, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday May 22, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30am on Thursday May 27, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church; Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeths parish immediately following. Inurnment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation at https://www.bcrf.org
Joanne was born on February 10, 1955, in Kansas City, Missouri, to William and Frances (Jacobs) Egelhoff. She attended grade school at St. Elizabeth s school, attended high school at St. Teresas Academy and graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelors degree in bakery science & management. She worked for the USDA for over 25 years as a chemical analyst. Joanne was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. She spent countless hours volunteering and absolutely loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Francis William "Bill" Egelhoff. Joanne is survived by her children; Mark Nielsen (Janda), Holly Pollard (Jason), Anna Lacy (Josh), Matt Nielsen (Allie); her eight grandchildren, Lilly, Ben, Ruby, Frankie, Monty, Mona, Mia and Tate; her sister; Betty Bauers; and her brother, John Egelhoff.
