Joann Catherine Schmelzel

Joann Schmelzel, 56, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away January 31, 2023. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 11th, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Muehlebach Funeral Care, 6800 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, MO, 64131. Services will follow directly after. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial contributions be made to the Heart of America Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.

Joann was born July 5, 1966 to George and Charlotte VanBecelaere in Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents and her mother and father in law, Neal and Arlene Schmelzel. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Paul Schmelzel, and their two children; daughter, Jennifer Hedrick and husband Duane; son, Michael Schmelzel and wife Brenda; six grandchildren, Alaina, Eleanor, Mirren, Harriet, Lucille, and Graham; six brothers and sisters, Teresa, Leon, Georgia Ann, Jim, John, and Paul; sister-in-law, Vici, brothers-in-law Mark and John, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
