Joan Borchert

Joan M. Borchert 93, of Lees Summit passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020. She was born in KC, MO on June 16, 1926 to Charles & Marie Bremer. After graduating from Southwest High School, she married the love of her life Robert R. Borchert, with whom she had 3 children: James, Patty & Mary.

Joan worked for St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in the Parish office when her children were growing up. She worked at Healthco Dental Co. as a bookkeeper for several years & then she, along with one of her lifelong friends Ima & her daughter Mary, started a cleaning business called Sweeping Beauty
& the Heavy Dusters. Where she cleaned houses until she retired.

Joan lived her life to the fullest enjoying every moment that she could. She loved spending time with her family & boasting about her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren & all of their talents & accomplishments. She loved to travel, especially to Hawaii, where she spent many days on the beaches & enjoying the surrounding beauty & entertainment with family & friends. She enjoyed playing card games & playing Yahtzee. She loved having Sunday Dinners with family & friends & she made the absolute BEST Apple Pies in the world!

Joan is preceded in death by her parents: Charles her siblings, CV & Charles; her husband, Robert. She is survived by her Children, James (Barb) Borchert, Patty (Casey) Byrnes & Mary Johnson; her nephew, Charlie; her grandchildren, Missy, Casey, Connor, Jeremy, Ben, Kelsey, Kyle her great grandchildren, Cassidy, Kylie, Colin, Naomi, Eli, Caydence, Harper, Fallyn, Jacob, Jessie, Josh, Brooks, Jaden, Kenzie, Dakota, Haley, Lena, James & Makenna.
