Jeffrey Edmund Peakes, 69, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on April 30, 2021. Vitiation will be held from 9:30 am 10:30 am, Friday, May 7, 2021 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chain of Hope, The American Heart Association, or a charity of your choice.
Jeffrey was born on October 13, 1951, in Salem, Massachusetts. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund Wallace Peakes and Carol Alexandra (Nowakowski) Peakes. He is survived by his cherished wife, Linda Anne (Miller) Peakes; his 3 children, Stephanie of Denver, Colorado, Jessica of Washington D.C., and Christopher (Madison) of Kansas City; his 2 siblings, Jennifer (Mitch) DiCarlo of Kansas City and Lee (Jan) Peakes of Sarasota, Florida; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Jeff graduated from Rockhurst High School and worked for the Kansas City Fire Department before returning to Rockhurst University where he earned his BS in Business Administration and his MBA through the Executive Fellows Program. He was employed at DST for 25 years, retiring in 2006 as Vice President, DST Output. Many of his most meaningful and lasting friendships were made during his time with the company.
Jeff held strong religious convictions and was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. He had a great love for animals and was well-known for spoiling the family pets. Jeff was an avid reader, music lover, backgammon player, traveler and Chiefs fan. He always seemed happiest with a lobster and artichoke in front of him. Jeff will be so missed by all who loved him.
