Jeanne O. Scroggin

Jeanne Olson Scroggin, 92, Leawood, KS passed away peacefully on her 92nd birthday, May 20, 2021.
Jeanne was the only daughter born to Lillian and Albert Olson on May 20, 1929, in Kansas City, MO. She treasured her role as an older sister to her brother, Don, and endearingly spoke of their adventures growing up alongside their Benson cousins. Jeanne graduated from Southwest High School and the University of Missouri. She was a proud member of the Delta Gamma Sorority, where she built life-long friendships. While at "Mizzou-RAH," she met her sweetheart, Bill, who she was married to for 63 years. After studying home economics, Jeanne spent her years supporting Bill in his career and building a loving and supportive home for their four children. She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church and was so very proud of her Swedish heritage.
Always in the pursuit of others' happiness, Jeanne was the biggest cheerleader of her children and grandchildren. She held dear the title of "Gram" - cherishing visits across the country with her grandchildren. Adored for her quick wit and a sharp mind, she was an avid champion of Words With Friends - connecting with loved ones and strategically placing every tile. In her ninety-two years of life, Jeanne radiated kindness in every relationship and decision. To our sweet mom and Gram, you made us so very happy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother.
She is survived by her son, Bill, and wife, Debbie, and their four children, Will (Amanda), Michael (Rachel) and their two children, Tyson (Heather) and their two sons, and Sabrina (Norrie Steyn) and their three children; son, Ken, and wife, Pari, and their two children, Cassidy and Kenny; daughter, Jan, and her three children, John, Claire, and Patrick Cullen; son, Clark, and wife, Meredith, and their four children, Clark, Lily, Jack, and Ann Claire. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Ann Olson, and her best friend, "Miss" Marcia Clark, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to sincerely thank the Kansas City Hospice House for their wonderful care and support.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 6401 Wornall Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64113. Friends are invited to the Jewell Room of the church, immediately following the service to visit with the family. Private family burial.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to The Allison Benson Memorial Fund, c/o Childrens Mercy Hospital, 2401 Gillham Road, Kansas City, MO, 64108, or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
