Jean was born January 13, 1923, in Easton, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John and Hilda (Sippel) Beach. Jean was the second of seven children; Doris (Beach) Weber, Robert Beach, Gerald Beach, Kenneth Beach, Philip Beach and infant brother Jackie.

She enjoyed writing, especially poetry, sewing, crocheting and participating in the many gatherings of the church members. Her life was truly entwined with the church. She also, along with her husband and daughter, supported many humane and environmental organizations.
