Jim was born February 8, 1964 in Kansas City, MO. Growing up with his only sister Michelle to James Salerno Sr and Sophia Salerno.
From a young age Jim loved all things sports; watching and playing. In particular he played baseball and football but his true love was for the game of golf.
He graduated in the 1982 class of Rockhurst High School where he was well-liked and mainly referred to as Sally on the field.
He met Chris, his wife, in May of 1987, and dated for 7 years until he finally asked her to marry him. Within those 7 years Jim attended Rockhurst University and spent many of his days working for his father.
Jim loved spending time with great friends watching Boxing, playing ping pong and joking around. Jim was especially good at the last one. He loved to make people laugh with his jokes and funny sense of humor.
After marriage, as so many, Jim and Chris welcomed a daughter into this world in 1995; Sabrina. Jim was dedicated to fulfilling a great life for both his wife and daughter and worked tirelessly to give them everything they wanted. But when weekends would roll around is when he spent his days with his family. Jim loved taking Sabrina fishing, watching Chiefs and Royals games and singing all genres of music.
Once Sabrina was old enough Jim loved to take his family on vacations. We loved to go to family reunions in Illinois but also visited Disney World almost every other year. Jim was always so proud of Sabrina and all of her accomplishments.
In 2012 Jim was diagnosed with Kidney Disease and added to a transplant list and after many painful years of medical procedures God blessed him with a new kidney in 2015. Jim was a new man again. He lived life to his fullest, loved to eat all kinds of food, especially pasta and got to spend more time with his family.
Jim owned his own business which he kept very close to his heart. He made great friends through business and was the most personable and influential person of his kind in Sales.
Jim was also a huge Royals, Chiefs and Mizzou fan. He watched every game from his chair in front of the TV usually paired with a Diet soda and appetizer food! (Jim loved his wings)
Jim was a good man, is a good man. He cared about people, never spoke badly about people and forgave people without hesitation. He would always tell me, Sabrina, that as long as you live this life as a good person and a person of God that you would make it to heaven and I know he has made it there because he was the best man that anyone would be lucky enough to call him friend, husband, brother, son and dad.
