Jackie H. Craig Jr.

May 18, 1961 — December 9, 2025

Kansas City, Missouri

Jack Craig, 64, of Kansas City, MO, passed away December 9th, 2025, after a long battle with health conditions. Our father, or Jack as you may have known him, was endlessly creative and lived a big life, touching many people along the way. We would be honored to hear the memories you hold. Memorial contributions may be given to ReDiscover or to a local reentry or transitional program of your choosing. The family encourages guests to bring photos and memories for a shared memory board, and an open time of remembrance will be offered during the service. A memorial service will be held from 5:00-7:00p.m. Friday, December 19th, with remembrances shared at 6:00p.m. at Muehlebach Chapel, 6800 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO 64131. Jack was born May 18th, 1961, the son of Jack and Betty (Comer) Craig, in Kansas City and was raised in Kansas City.

Jack was a creator through and through- the most imaginative man we’ve ever known. He could take anything and turn it into something, always seeing possibilities where others saw nothing. A DIY kind of guy, he could master anything he set his mind to: construction, ironworking, restoring chapel windows, lamp-making, sculpture - you name it. He loved live music, float trips in the Ozarks, his beloved blockhead pit bulls, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. And of course, he had that hilarious tradition of going to the zoo just to bother the gorillas- something only he could make endearing.

Human, with all the quirks and contradictions that make life interesting, he touched countless lives. He was a jokester, stubborn, quirky, and unapologetically himself, showing us all that being human means embracing both the strengths and the messiness. A man full of spirit, humor, and creativity, he loved in the way only he could- deeply, uniquely, and without pretense.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents and his brother, Mark Craig, whose memory he held close to his heart. He leaves behind the apples of his eyes - his three daughters: Cheyenne Elizabeth Bacon and her husband, Joseph, and their son, Clive Harmony Bacon, his first grandson, through whom a piece of him will always remain; Gabrielle Maureen Richie and her husband, Beau-Bradley; and Hope Craig, the youngest of his daughters, completing the trio. He is also survived by Natalie Flores, his former wife and a loyal friend for life, his brother Kevin Craig, his wife Jackie and by his lifelong best friend and neighbor, Joe Tarantino.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the team at ReDiscover for their care over the past year, and to Robert Kenemer for his compassionate presence and support during Jack Craig’s final days.
