Helen J. Byrne

Her prayers have been answered, Helen is in Heaven. Helen J. Byrne, 88, passed away September 14, 2021. Helen was born June 26, 1933 in Fort Scott, KS to Joseph and Margaret Bollinger. She was a graduate of Hogan High School and after she raised her 6 children, she went to work for Surgicenter then spent over 20 years as an office manager for the Homes Association of the Country Club District.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Byrne; a son, Tom Byrne; brothers, Patrick and Joseph Bollinger; a sister, Margaret Lander. She is survived by her children, Deborah Byrne, Michael "Mick" Byrne, Kevin Byrne, Ann McGinnis and husband Kevin, Steve Byrne and wife Andrea; daughter-in-law, Stacy Byrne; grandchildren, Riley, Derek and John Byrne, Joseph, Megan, Julia and Matthew McGinnis, and Colleen Byrne.
Visitation will be held 9:30-11:00 am Wednesday, September 22nd at St. Thomas More Church, 11822 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Masks are encouraged for those in attendance. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Byrne Out Cancer Foundation or The Healing NET Foundation at www.thehealingnet.org.
