Frances Regina (Jean) Brodie, 69, of Frisco, TX passed away peacefully at home on January 22, 2021 at 6:12 p.m. Central time. Due to the current pandemic and in consideration of family and friends health and wellbeing, a private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at St. Therese Catholic Church, North. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society in the name of Frances R. Brodie. Jean, as she was known by her family, friends and professional colleagues, was born on January 6, 1952 to Rudolph and Dorothy (Carlson) Saplata in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Bishop Hogan High School in 1970. She attended Brookhaven College, Dallas, Texas and earned an Associate Degree in Arts & Sciences, graduating on June 30, 1983.
Jean was a successful Sales & Marketing professional beginning her sales career in 1984 at Digital Equipment Corporation. Jean was a valued sales and marketing resource at several Information Technology, Telecommunications and Software companies including IBM, Nortel Networks, Hitachi Consulting and GridGain Systems where she eventually retired in 2019. Jean was also an entrepreneur, establishing Clearview Marketing and Consulting Group in 2003, providing inside sales, marketing and social media services to organizations; most notably a three-year, high-profile, digital media project for the National Science Foundation.
Jeans interests and hobbies included gardening, baking, reading, wine tasting, photography and tennis. She enjoyed visiting museums and loved art. An animal lover, she supported Texas Alaskan Malamute Rescue and environmental organizations. Jean was active in the lives of her friends and family, enriching the lives of those around her.
Jean is survived by her husband of 32 years, Al Brodie of Frisco, TX; their son Eric Grayson Brodie, of Frisco, TX; brother, Dick Saplata and wife Anne; sisters, Elaine Leander and husband John, Mary Jo Boyd and husband Tim; as well as loving nieces and nephews.
