F. Neal Neal Raupp

Francis Neal Raupp of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on September 8, 2017, in his home with a number of family and friends present. Neal was born on July 10, 1925 to Phillip and Anieta Raupp. He was the sixth of seven children. Neal graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City in January 1943 where he had been a part of the track team. Shortly after graduation he joined the Merchant Marines. Following boot camp, he was allowed to leave the Merchant Marines to be drafted into the Marines. He was discharged from the Marines on Leap Day (February 29) 1944 due to a heart condition. He had several jobs, but most of his adult life was spent in real estate and investing in the stock market. Neal married Marcella Gowler in June of 1976. They were able to take several trips, both within the US and internationally. They very much enjoyed their travels. They were members of The John Knox Presbyterian Kirk in Kansas City. Neal has been a member of several civic and fraternal organizations including The Native Sons and Daughters of Kansas City, The Masons, and Shriners. Neal was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella, his mother and father, his brothers; Max Jr., George, Bob, Jack, and Phillip, and his sister, Dorothy, and grandson Donald Gower. He is survived by his twin daughters; Gaye Crider (Don) of Polk City, Florida, and Kaye Cary (Bruce) of Gig Harbor, Washington; step sons; Ben Gowler (Billie Jo) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Randy Gowler (Alice) of Olathe, Kansas; granddaughters Kimberly Sanders, Michelle Hall, Lisa Anderson, and Rachel Ward, and numerous nieces, and nephews.
