Eric P. Bernard

April 10, 1974 — February 17, 2018

Eric P. Bernard was born April 10th 1974, to Archie Trotter and Diane Paige in Kansas City, Kansas. Eric received his education in the Kansas City Kansas schools system. After high school he went on to be a Chef. Anything he cooked was delightful. Before settling in Kansas City, he also lived in Seattle, WA where he also has a host of friends and relatives that he leaves to cherish his memory.
Eric LOVED his family there was nothing except his love for CHRIST that was more important to him. He loved the art of cooking and always shared a scrumptious dish or two at family gatherings whenever he could.
He was very quiet soft spoken yet when he spoke you just wanted to listen if you listened to him you were bound to learn something. Eric was humorous he never missed a beat at taking a situation and making it hilarious. A Loving Son, Brother, Father, Cousin, and Friend. He was very compassionate and kind. He taught us what it meant to forgive others.
There was never any work too hard for him and when he got tired he would let you know and that was that. He was thorough in all he did. He loved researching and reading material on keeping himself healthy and did an excellent job sharing what he knew with others without complaining. He was in activist for his culture and never wanted to miss a celebration that highlighted African art, music and his people in general.
He was an avid Chiefs fan. He enjoyed many games to the fullest.
When you called Eric, if his health permitted, he was there doing what he could to help at the soonest possible moment.
Eric lived his life loving and trusting GOD to provide his every need and never ever grumbling. Eric lived one day at a time, enjoyed each moment at a time. He accepted hardship as a pathway to peace. He reverently took, as JESUS did, this sinful world as it is and not how he would have it to be. He truly trusted GOD would make all things right and lived in surrender to
HIS will. Eric lives reasonably happy and peaceful in this life. There is no doubt that he is now supremely happy, resting forever in the heavenly host.
Because of who you were and how you lived we thank GOD for the time HE allowed us with you. We will miss you and will always hold on to the precious memories we have in our hearts of you.
Eric fought a good fight, and he kept the faith. CHRIST has called him to lay his burdens down and rest. He is now one of GOD'S angels and we know they watch over us all night and all day. Until we meet again,
Sleep on cousinWe love you!!! He leaves to cherish is memory a Son Isaac Fowler, His Mother Diane Paige, His Sister Nyree Bernard, a very Special Cousin and Best Friend Dula Brown, Cousin who he insisted on calling Ainty Sandy also a host of 2nd cousins that were more like first cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 4th, at 4:00 pm at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1220 Walker Ave., Kansas City, KS. 66104.
