Edward L. Turgeon

Edward L. Turgeon, age 89, of Leawood, KS, passed away on January 21, 2019. All services will be held on Saturday, January 26th at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8510 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64114. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial starting at 1:30 p.m. There will be a Private Family Inurnment.
Edward was born on July 28, 1929 in Kansas City, MO to Louis and Nellie (Seck) Turgeon. He was the youngest of three children, having two older sisters whom he loved dearly. Edward spent his whole life in Kansas City. He attended Guardian Angels Grade School and graduated from DeLaSalle High School. Edward enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served his country in the Korean War and reached the rank of Sergeant. Once he returned home, Edward made a career out of home remodeling and improvement for Sears & Roebuck Co. He retired after dedicating 30 years to the company. Edward was a member of the Sears Retiree Club, and he also volunteered his time at St. Joseph Medical Center for many years. He was extremely hardworking, selfless, loyal, charming... and the list could go on. Edward will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
On November 7th of this year would have marked 60 years of happily married years to the love of Edwards life, Ann (Hilderbrand) Turgeon. He is survived by his loving wife, Ann; daughter Kay Julian; grandson Nick Julian; and nephew Kenneth Berger wife Patty and family Julie, Jackie, Jennifer and John; as well as many dear friends and family members. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Helen Turgeon and Dorothy Berger.
The family would like to give a special thank-you to the staff of Kansas City Hospice House for their care of Edward during this difficult time along with the many friends of Edwards who have been so caring and supportive through this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64145.
