Dustin Conner, 35, of Lee's Summit, Missouri passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, surrounded by his family. Dustin was born on September 6, 1990, in Kansas City, Missouri, at Research Hospital to his parents, Daniel J. Conner and Robin K. Edwards. Raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Dustin grew up with a strong work ethic and always had a helping hand to offer those around him. After school at Hickman Mills High School, he built a life of dedicated hard work—beginning at Hillcrest Country Club, moving on to Jose Peppers, and later putting his strength into foundation repair work.
In January of 2007, Dustin’s heart expanded in a whole new way when he welcomed his firstborn son, (Little) Dustin Bennet Conner. Later, while working at Jose Peppers in Olathe, Kansas, destiny brought him to the love of his life and true partner, Cate Hernandez. For ten beautiful years, Dustin and Cate built a life rooted in deep affection and unwavering commitment. Together, they completed their family with two precious daughters, Allison Rose Conner in 2016 and Annabelle Mae Conner in 2021. Dustin’s entire world revolved around his children and his family. He found his greatest joy in life's simple, beautiful moments: listening to country music, sharing laughs around warm backyard bonfires, fishing, embracing the great outdoors, and working tirelessly to provide for those he loved so fiercely.
In August of 2025, Dustin faced a devastating diagnosis of Stage IV Adrenocortical Carcinoma. He fought this rare and aggressive cancer with a quiet, breathtaking courage that inspired everyone around him. During his hardest days, Dustin found profound strength, peace, and comfort by joining the Catholic Church, a spiritual home that sustained him through his journey.
Dustin was reunited in heaven with his beloved father, Daniel Conner, and his cherished grandmother, Shirley Long. His loving memory will be carried on forever by his soulmate, Cate; his beautiful little girls, Allison and Annabelle; his son, Dustin; his devoted mother and stepfather, Robin and Doug; and his sisters, Danielle, Kayla, and Tiffany. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the extraordinary oncology team, nurses, and doctors at KU Medical Center for walking alongside Dustin on his treatment journey. They also send heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at St. Luke's East Hospital for wrapping Dustin and his family in comfort and dignity during his final days.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7th, at 9:30 a.m., followed by Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Presentation, 130 Northwest Murray Road, Lee’s Summit, Missouri 64081. A private inurnment will be held at 1:30 at Resurrection Cemetery, 8300 Quivira Road, Lenexa, Kansas 66215.
