Donald Lackamp

Donald A. "Don" Lackamp, 89, passed away January 13, 2021. Don was born July 2, 1931 in Kansas City, MO to Bernard J., Sr. and Matilda F. Lackamp. He graduated from Bishop Hogan High School. Don attended St. Louis Grade School and Bishop Hogan High School in Kansas City. Don was a member of Christ the King Parish and was very active in the Church all his life. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 527 and a 4th Degree Knight. Don will always be remembered for this thoughtfulness to the needs of others and devotion to his family. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Anne Lackamp; his parents; brothers, Bernard J. Lackamp, Jr., Rev. Franklin J. Lackamp and Charles R. Lackamp; sister-in-law, Carol Meyer; nieces, Amy Christian Lackamp and Amber Meyer-Lackamp. Survivors include his daughter, Mary G. Lackamp and husband Steve Birdsell; a son, Joseph G. Lackamp and wife Jennifer; a sister, Theresa P. Padovano and husband Anthony; brothers, Marvin H. Lackamp and Larry Lackamp; grandchildren, James, Julie and Jackie; sister-in-law, Francine Lackamp and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 9 am Thursday, January 21st at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8510 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, MO 64114. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Church, Unbound, 1 Elmwood Ave, Kansas City, KS 66103 or a charity of the donors choice.
